An Annual Urban Garden Tour, South End/Lower Roxbury Open Space Land Trust
A membership-supported, non-profit organization that owns, protects, and manages 16 community gardens and pocket parks in Boston’s historic South End and Lower Roxbury neighborhoods. Every year a committee of 10 volunteers puts together a fantastic tour of 25 unique urban gardens (from roof decks to fire escapes). Grady (my son) and I are committee volunteers. We scour the neighborhoods (and alleys) looking for gardens of note for the tour, write descriptions and do some old-fashioned PR. You can learn more here.
