When my son entered daycare, I was looking for ways to join him in the classroom. Since my expertise is with gardening, I decided to spearhead the effort to create a school garden. When I propose the idea, many balked. “They are too young… too busy… it’s too messy.”  But we went ahead. It was fantastic. Now I am on my third school garden, this time for preschoolers. I’ve put together a little calendar of activities and crafts related to the garden for the kids. I will be adding book lists, harvesting info and recipes as time allows. You can follow along on my blog, a city life.
